Halo
Mikal returned to Big Bad Sounds to continue building the foundation for album two. This time the session expanded beyond the kit, with both Mikal and Giorg capturing the mysterious tones of the Halo drum. Its resonance moved through the room like a spacecraft, adding an otherworldly dimension to the pulse already in motion.
Drum Sessions Continue
Drum tracking at Big Bad Sounds is carving out the pulse of the new record. The kit is hitting with weight and clarity.
The room feels alive as the details tighten and the foundation grows stronger. With Zach Fisher guiding the sessions with a steady ear and sharp focus, the sound is evolving into something massive.
Drum Tracking for Album 2
Drum tracking for our second album has officially kicked off at Big Bad Sounds. The kit is sounding massive and tight, energy locked in, preamps dialed, and the room alive. With Zach Fisher engineering and bringing his meticulous attention to detail, the foundation is being set in motion. Kevin the greyhound is here too, keeping spirits high. We can’t wait to share what emerges from these sessions.

Roads (Portishead) Out Now
Five locations. Two states. One storm passing through. Out of Los Angeles and into the deserts of Tucson, Roads came to life against the backdrop of a desert monsoon.
Giorg Yela, Tas Limur, Kris Jung, Serena Rose, and Mikal Baker present their interpretation of the Portishead classic, woven together through distance, weather, and vision.
The piece began as a composition by Giorg Yela, evolving through conversations with Tas Limur before extending outward to include contributions from Kris Jung, Serena Rose, and Mikal Baker.

Til next time.

Glitched
Fractured and reassembled into noise and static.
What was once whole bends into distortion,
reshaping into echoes of light and shadow.
